Introducing Optifog™ lenses, a new breakthrough technology with superior anti-fog properties form Essilor

 In daily activities at home, work and play, fogged lenses can be a real bother for eyeglass wearers.

Essilor Optifog is a new breakthrough technology with superior anti-fog properties. It has an advanced anti-fog top coat that, when combined with the Optifog Activator, provides long lasting fog free vision. The top coat and the Activator work together like Velcro. Each of their unique properties combine to create a revolutionary anti-fog solution.

Optifog Lens Layers:

Anti-fog molecules included into the lens form a new Top Layer with fog repellence properties. The hydrophilic properties of the Top Layer durably retain the Optifog Activator in a uniform layer.

Optifog Lenses:

Optifog is suitable for individuals with all types of visual correction needs, and is available for all prescriptions (single vision, progressive or bifocal), all materials (organic and polycarbonate), in clear, tinted (available on Polarized), as well as photochromic lens (Transitions).


Note: Optifog with HMC has the same performances as the best Essilor HMC in terms of Glare reduction, Scratch resistance and Dust repellence.

Optifog Application:

Lenses with Optifog provide the best and most durable protection against fog on eyeglass lenses.

The Optifog lens is activated by the Optifog Activator
1. Simply put a drop of the Activator on each side of the lens
2. Gently wipe with a microfiber cloth to make sure to coat the entire surface
Eyeglass wearers will find that their vision becomes perfectly fog-free up to one week.


The result: No distortion and no loss of contrast.
The many tiny water droplets caused by fog perfectly spread on the lens surface, creating a uniform film of water, invisible to the wearer.

The Optifog lenses durably retain the Optifog Activator, preventing fog from appearing for up to one week.
